We had our first winter rain storm blow through today, the first serious rain we've had since April or something! Nothing that would be extraordinary in many other parts of the world, just some occasionally hard rain that lasted for about 12 hours. With the rain, however, came some unusually cold temperatures. There was snow in the mountains today although we didn't get to see it. Overnight tonight they're expecting a low of just one degree above freezing, and it might actually freeze tomorrow night!
On the garden front, most all of our summer crops have died off. We still have some chili peppers producing, a couple cooking pumpkins ripening, and our perennial herbs are going strong. The leaf lettuce Danielle has been so excited about (and trying to give away!) is still going strong, though if it's going to freeze tonight I should probably go pick some!
