Cool and (partly) contained

Today is cool and cloudy, with only light breezes. Much progress was made on containing the fire over night, they're now claiming 30% containment but more importantly the areas which remain threatened by fire are far up the mountainside and away from populated areas. The word is they are about to start relaxing the evacuation areas, but they're still playing it cautious. So, Jesusita is still burning and the firefighters have a lot of work ahead of them to put everything out cold, but for now it looks like the worst is behind us.

The most reliable local news source is the Santa Barbara Independent, which has some really great stories from the field and posts updates from the ground every couple hours. Lots of intense pictures as well.
